SharePoint and OneDrive include several content recovery options for SharePoint/OneDrive administrators, site collection administrators, and end users. Educating your users, and site collection administrators will lighten the burden on your these admins. Using either a GUI or PowerShell you can backup and restore your entire farm or components of your SharePoint deployment. You can also perform more granular content backups by exporting site collections, site, libraries, and list. SharePoint Server also provides the option of recovering site collections, sites, list and libraries from content databases that are no longer part of the SharePoint farm.
